New Car Launch - Audi A3 Cabriolet

Audi A3 Cabriolet

Audi has unveiled the new A3 Cabriolet, which will compete against the BMW's forthcoming 1 Series Convertible. Due out next spring, it is designed as a four seater, with a folding rear seat which can increase the luggage space when only two people are travelling. Semi and fully automatic roofs will be available, which fold flat beneath the rear panel. As with the A4 Cabriolet, the roof structure is made of fabric, rather than metal.

The exterior design follows the curves of the A3 hatchbacks and dimensions wise it is slightly longer than the current 3dr model, but slightly shorter than the 5dr Sportback.

There will be two petrol and two diesel (TDI) engines available at launch, which include direct injection and turbochargers. Customers can opt for a Standard or Sports specifications, with suspension systems tuned to suit, too. Sport models have larger 17-inch wheels and are fitted with sports seats. Later in 2008, the S-line model will also be available.
